Tea estates, heritage hotels and Kanchenjunga at sunrise: a wedding in the hills, planned around the realities of the mountains by a North Bengal team.
At 2,045 metres, Darjeeling is North Bengal’s classic hill wedding. Its heritage hotels and tea-estate bungalows look out over the Himalaya, the toy train of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999) still runs through the town, and on clear mornings Kanchenjunga, the world’s third-highest mountain, fills the northern sky.
That setting asks for careful planning. Roads are narrow and slow, evenings are cold for much of the year, and the weather can change within the hour. Most hill properties are boutique, so Darjeeling suits intimate and mid-size celebrations best, or a larger guest list spread across neighbouring hotels.
KHASKEL is based in Jalpaiguri, down in the plains. We manage mountain logistics, weather contingencies and intimate gatherings across Darjeeling’s finest properties.
Guest transfers from Bagdogra and NJP timed around hill-road traffic, with refreshments for the longer journey.
Capacity, rooms, power and kitchens checked before a property is recommended, and guests placed across neighbouring hotels where needed.
A covered or indoor plan for every outdoor function, and warm spaces for winter evenings that fall close to freezing.
Ceremonies and photographs timed to the clearest part of the day, when the mountains are most likely to show.
Welcome desks, room allocation and guest assistance, so families arriving from the plains settle in quickly.
On-ground command, timelines and vendor coordination, with KHASKEL responsible for keeping the celebration moving.
October to early December and February to April usually bring the clearest skies and most comfortable days. December and January are clear but cold, with nights close to freezing. Around 80% of Darjeeling’s rain falls between June and September, so the monsoon is best avoided for outdoor celebrations.

It depends on the guest count, the number of functions, the properties chosen and the scale of décor and production. We build the plan around your priorities and budget, and share a clear proposal after a first conversation.

Yes. Tea estates around Darjeeling and Kurseong include bungalows and resorts suited to private celebrations. We assess access, power, rooms and capacity before recommending one.
We offer both. You can choose end-to-end wedding planning or design and décor execution only, depending on your needs and how involved you would like to be.

Every celebration starts with a single, clear conversation. Share a few details and we will follow up with a clear path and the right next step.
